Name Change: EPS Sponsored Conferences are now EPS Recognised Conferences
As of 1 January 2018, what were formerly known as “EPS Sponsored Conferences” will be called “EPS Recognised Conferences”.

Winners of the 2017 EPS Alfvén and Plasma Innovation Prizes
The 2017 Alfvén prize is awarded to Ksenia Aleksandrovna Razumova, from the Kurchatov Institute (Moscow, Russia). The 2017 Innovation award is going to Michel Moisan, from the Université de Montréal (Québec, Canada).
IONS conferences
The large-scale networking conferences of the International OSA Network of Students (IONS®) are “organized by students, for students”. The 2017 European meeting will be hosted for the first time by the Romanian OSA and SPIE Student Chapters as well as the European Physical Society (EPS) Young Minds Section of the National Institute for Laser, Plasma and Radiation Physics (INFLPR), and co-hosted by the Ukrainian OSA Student Chapter of the Institute of Radiophysics and Electronics in Balvanyos (RO) from 25-28 July 2017.

Report on the First Biology for Physics Conference
The 1st Biology for Physics Conference (BioforPhys17) took place on the 15-18th January 2017 in Barcelona (ES). It was organised by the Small Biosystems laboratory of the University of Barcelona under the auspices of the Division of Physics for Life Sciences (DPL) of the European Physical Society (EPS).
