IYL 2015 Best Practice Exchange Event
On 9 October 2015 the German Physical Society [DPG] organized a meeting between National Node representatives of the International Year of Light and Light-based Technologies 2015 [IYL 2015] at the Magnus Haus in Berlin, Germany. The focus of the meeting was to exchange best practices examples of IYL 2015 activities and events, resulting sustainable development and possible further cooperative actions for the future.

The IYL 2015 Opening Ceremony
The Opening Ceremony of the International Year of Light and Light-based Technologies 2015. will take place at the UNESCO Headquarters, Paris, on 19-20 January 2015. It will introduce all the key themes of the year, and will aim to inspire activities and events worldwide for the following 12 months. ESA celebrated 50 years at ESOC
On 28 August 2014, the European Space Agency [ESA] celebrated 50 years of European cooperation in space. Jean-Jacques Dordain, the ESA’s Director General, invited dignitaries, former astronauts, and colleagues past and present, the workforce at the European Space Operations Centre in Darmstadt, Germany [ESOC] gathered to share the success story of the ESA.
In 1964, the Conventions of ELDO (launchers) and ESRO (science and later applications) entered into force. A decade later, a single European Space Agency was established, taking over from these two organisations.
ESAS Summer School
The European Society for Applied Superconductivity [ESAS] Summer School on “New Trends with Superconducting Detectors” will be held in Genoa from 9-13 September 2013. The school has been organised in co-operation with the Institute SPIN of the Italian National Council of Research [CNR], the University of Genoa, the University of Naples Federico II and the Italian National Institute for Nuclear Physics, under the patronage of the EPS.

10 Years of the SEENET-MTP
Under the the aegis and with the suppport of the European Physical Society [EPS], the Kick-off Meeting of the EPS Committee of European Integration [EPS-CEI] and the Balkan Workshop BW2013 – Beyond Standard Models in Cosmology and Particle Physics, the central meeting of the Southeastern European Network in Mathematical and Theoretical Physics [SEENET-MTP] in 2013, were held in Vrnjačka Banja, Serbia, from 25-29 April 2013. Primordial QCD Matter in the LHC Era
The “Primordial QCD Matter in the LHC Era: implications of QCD results in the early universe” conference is being held in Cairo, Egypt on 10-14 February 2013.
