IUPAP Young Scientist Prize in Atomic, Molecular and Optical Physics 2016
Nominations are sought for the Young Scientist Prize in Atomic, Molecular and Optical [AMO] Physics, which will be awarded in 2016 by the International Union of Pure and Applied Physics through Commission C15 [AMO Physics]. The prize will be awarded during the 25th International Conference on Atomic Physics [ICAP] to be held on 24-29 July 2016 at Seoul, Korea. The Prize includes a certificate, a medal, a EURO 1,000 award and an invited presentation at ICAP.
IUPAP/IUPAC Joint Working Party on the Discovery of Elements Validates Claims for Four New Elements
The claims for four new elements have been validated in two new reports from the IUPAC/IUPAP Joint Working Party (JWP) and accepted for publication in Pure and Applied Chemistry. The addition of the four, namely elements 113, 115,117, and 118, represents a significant milestone because it completes the seventh row of the Periodic Table. The new elements add to the remarkable progress in extending the periodic table following 114 and 116 validated in 2011, and element 112 validated in 2009.

The aim of the School is to present the state-of-the-art and the future perspectives for materials applied to the generation and storage of renewable and sustainable energy.
Report on INARIE
The workshop “Integrating Access to Pan-European Research Infrastructures in Central and Eastern Europe” [INARIE] took place in Debrecen, Hungary from 30 November to 2 December 2015. INARIE was organised by the Institute for Nuclear Research (Atomki), Hungarian Academy of Sciences, the Wigner Research Centre for Physics, Hungarian Academy of Sciences and the European Physical Society in frames of the International Year of Light. The workshop was part of the INARIE project of the EPS Committee of European Integration (EPS-CEI) and concluded a series of previous EPS-CEI workshops in Bucharest, Sofia and Trieste.
Advanced School in Soft Condensed Matter ‘Solutions in the Spring’
The aim of this School is to provide a comprehensive foundation for researchers in the field of soft matter liquids and complex fluids. The lectures will introduce key topics of current interest together with the theoretical, experimental and computer simulation approaches used to address them. The School is directed towards postgraduate students from a wide range of backgrounds including physics, chemistry, chemical engineering and biophysics and abstract submissions were recently opened.
Few-body Physics: Advances and Prospects in Theory and Experiment
The 614th Wilhelm and Else Heraeus Seminar will take place at the Physikzentrum in Bad Honnef, Germany, from 18-20 April 2016.
The interaction of particles or macroscopic bodies is a key element of Nature for building up nuclei, atoms, molecules, gaseous, liquid or solid states of matter, and even the system of planets with galaxies.

The 12th European Conference on Atoms Molecules and Photons [ECAMP12] will take place in Frankfurt, Germany, from September 5-9, 2016. The conference venue will be the Horsaalzentrum Campus Westend, Goethe University Frankfurt, Germany.
