IUPAP Young Scientist Prize in Atomic, Molecular and Optical Physics 2016

Nominations are sought for the Young Scientist Prize in Atomic, Molecular and Optical [AMO] Physics, which will be awarded in 2016 by the International Union of Pure and Applied Physics through Commission C15 [AMO Physics]. The prize will be awarded during the 25th International Conference on Atomic Physics [ICAP] to be held on 24-29 July 2016 at Seoul, Korea. The Prize includes a certificate, a medal, a EURO 1,000 award and an invited presentation at ICAP.

IUPAP Young Scientists Prize in Quantum Electronics

The award ceremony for the biennial Young Scientist Prizes in Quantum Electronics of the International Union of Pure and Applied Physics [IUPAP] was held on 5 December 2013 at the OPTIC 2013 conference in Chung-Li, Taiwan. This year, the Prize in Quantum Electronics (Applied Aspects) goes to Dr. Nickolas Vamivakas of the Institute of Optics, University of Rochester. The Prize in Quantum Electronics (Fundamental Aspects) goes to Dr. Kin Fai Mak of the Kavli Institute at Cornell for Nanoscale Science Laboratory for Atomic and Solid State Physics. Dr. Vamivakas was cited for his seminal contributions to extending the domain of experimental quantum optics from atomic to solid-state systems…

Call for C16 Young Scientist Prize in Plasma Physics

Nominations are now open for the 2012 C16 Young Scientist Prize in Plasma Physics of the International Union of Pure and Applied Physics [IUPAP]. The prize will be given in recognition of exceptional achievement in the study of plasma physics by a scientist in the early stage of their career.

The award, consisting of a certificate, medal and 1,000 euros in prize money, will be presented during the opening session of the EPS/ICPP conference, which is being held in Stockholm on 2-6 July this year…

Call for Young Scientist Prize in Computational Physics

Nominations are now open for the 2012 Young Scientist Prize in Computational Physics, of the International Union of Pure and Applied Physics [IUPAP] Commission on Computational Physics [C20].

The prize, which consists of 1,000 euros, a medal and a certificate, will be given at the commission’s next Conference on Computational Physics [CCP2012], which is being held in Kobe, Japan, on 14-18 October. The winner will also be invited to present a paper at this meeting…
