Metamaterials 2011: The Fifth International Congress on Advanced Electromagnetic Materials in Microwaves and Optics will be held in Barcelona, Spain, on 10-15 October this year.

The congress – which is being hosted by the Centre CIMITEC of the Escola d’Enginyeria at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona – will address topics in the research into in artificial electromagnetic materials and their applications.

The metamaterials series was initiated by the European Network of Excellence Metamorphose, and is being organised by the Virtual Institute for Artificial Electromagnetic Materials and Metamaterials. The 2011 congress is an EPS europhysics conference.
