EPS Awards, Fellows & Honorary Members

The EPS is pleased to announce the award of the Gero Thomas Memorial Medal to Claude Sébenne, for his significant and long-term contributions to the EPS as editor of EPN .


The EPS Council has recently approved the following individuals as EPS Fellows:

  • Bolmont, Dominique (FR);
  • Fodor, Zoltan (HU);
  • Poole, Michael W. (UK);
  • Rossel, Christophe (CH);
  • Sosnowski, Ryszard (PL);
  • Wagner, Friedrich (DE);
  • White, Simon (UK);
  • Zheludev, Nikolay (UK).

Distinction as a Fellow of the European Physical Society is awarded to EPS Members whose contribution to physics, education, industry, or the society itself warrants recognition.

The following individuals were elected as Honorary Members of the European Physical Society at the last EPS Council meeting.

  • ‘t Hooft, Gerardus.
  • Kroó, Norbert;
  • Leduc, Michèle;
  • Schopper, Herwig.

The EPS awards Honorary Membership to eminent physicists for exceptional achievement in physics.
