EPS Executive Committee and Staff activities September 2019

3 September: Petra Rudolf, EPS President, inaugurated the former Max Born’s  Institute for Theoretical Physics in Frankfurt, Germany, as EPS Historic Site.

12 September: Petra Rudolf visited Saint Petersburg to sign an agreement of collaboration between EPS and Saint Petersburg State University and to inaugurate the Mendeleev’s studio, at the University of Saint Petersburg as as EPS Historic Site.

12-14 September: Gertrud Zwicknagl, EPS Executive Committee member, and Petra Rudolf participated in IPSEC XII meeting on the occasion of the Conference of the Polish Physical Society in Krakow, Poland.

13 September: David Lee, EPS Secretary General, Xavier de Araujo, EPS graphic designer and Gina Gunaratnam, EPS communication coordinator, attended the EPN Editors meeting and the EPN Advisory board meeting in Mulhouse, France.

14-15 September: Gina Gunaratnam attended the CERN Open Days to interview members of the Tactile Collider team, who won the 2019 Outreach Prize of the EPS HEP Division.

18 September: Rüdiger Voss, EPS past-president, together with David Lee, attended the “Start of the SEEIIST Design Phase” meeting in Budva, Montenegro.

21-22 September: Petra Rudolf visited the EPS Young Minds section in Yerevan, Armenia, in occasion of the “Optics & its applications 2019” (OPTICS-2019) conference they co-organised and gave a talk “A PhD is not enough – preparing for a career in science”.

24-25 September : David Lee and Enrique Sanchez, EPS policy consultant, attended the General meeting of the European Platform of Women Scientists in Brussels, Belgium.

30 September: Petra Rudolf inaugurated the Rogowski-Institut, Rheinisch-Westfälische Technische Hochschule in Aachen, Germany, as EPS Historic Site.

September: Luc Bergé, chair of the EPS Equal Opportunities Committee, together with members of the committee, revised the Charter of the Emmy Noether Distinction and wrote a Code of Conduct for the EPS conferences.
