  • “International Year Of Light” – Postal Stamp in artwork
    Roberto Altman, a well-known Liechtenstein artist, who includes postal stamps in his artwork, is going to create every year a new calligraphic work with Red-Dot-awarded stamps “International year of Light 2015″. The stamps included in the calligraphy shall be finally franked by the Liechtenstein Post Office on the very date 16 May. ( https://youtu.be/_R8fu2DWaN0.)
  • Candle-light-hymn
    The acapella hymn will be performed in Schaan in the original Greek version, especially for the International Day of Light, by one of the ensembles of the “Fürstlich-Liechtensteinischer Sängerbund” (Union of Singers of the Principality of Liechtenstein). “Fos ilaron” (O Gladsome Light) is the earliest known Christian hymn (3rd century) to be broadcast by the local TV 1flTV by 16 May.
  • Light refraction in Swarovski Artwork
    The Swarovski Company which is among the sponsors of the NWF (Liechtenstein Section of the European Physical Socity) is a leading specialist of crystal glass artwork. A light refraction experiment will be carried out in May by the NWF. (http://www.nwf.li.)

  • Dictation contest in French
    The “Bonaparte-Association” is organizing a contest in French orthography. It will take place on 17 May (the day after the IDL) under the motto “l’Année internationale de la lumière”.  The two dictation-texts (one easy and one academic) are of course kept secret until the event. They will be prepared with the help of the Liechtenstein Section of the European Physical Society. (http://www.bonaparte.li.)

  • Piano recital of the Rheinberger-Society in Vaduz with theme “Shadow and Light”
    The concert by Anna Buchberger devoted to the Liechtenstein composer Josef Gabriel Rheinberger (1839-1901) takes place on 27 May in Triesen. The theme has been chosen this year in relation to the International Day of Light (http://www.rheinberger.li.)
