NNV Diversity Prize 2018 awarded to Groningen

The first edition of the NNV-Diversity Prize was won by the faculty of Science and Engineering of the University of Groningen (RUG). The NNV (Netherlands Physical Society) has created the prize for the physics institution that is most successful in putting an open diversity policy into practice. The prize is a tribute and an inspiring example for other institutes and/or departments.

New from the Netherlands’Physical Society – Science Tournament

On 4 June 2015, the national final of the nation-wide Science Tournament “Techniek Toernooi” will take place in the Netherlands.

The Science Tournament started at local schools. Pupils are encouraged to engage in technical experimentation, following a carefully designed work schedule. This way, they learn about scientific principles, they can develop their creativity and they experience that science is not scary and strange but fun, actually.

FYSICA is the annual physics conference of the Netherlands Physical Society [NNV]. Each year the NNV organizes FYSICA in cooperation with a Dutch university, which changes every year. On 10 April 2015, FYSICA 2015 will take place at Eindhoven University of Technology. All physicists are invited to attend the meeting: teachers, industrial physicists, students and scientists.
