CMD27, The 27th Edition of the EPS Condensed Matter Division Conference will be held at the Technical University in Berlin from March 11th through March 16th, 2018, together with the Spring Meeting of the Condensed Matter Section of the German Physical Society DPG, until the title of the “2018 Joint Conference of the Condensed Matter Divisions of the EPS and the DPG”.

CMD has teamed up with the Statistical and Nonlinear Physics Division of EPSEPS Young Minds, and SKM to marry the traditional DPG – SKM Spring meeting (Frühjahrstagung) and the CMD Format. The result is an exciting programme of plenary lectures, common Symposia and Focused Sessions, as well as the traditional EPS – CMD Minicolloquia. In such, the  2018 Joint Conference of the Condensed Matter Divisions of the EPS and the DPG is poised to be the largest condensed matter gathering worldwide, with more than 6000 physicists attending. The conference will pay attention to the 50th anniversary of the EPS, and will also host the 2018 Europhysics Prize Award Ceremony. Other important events are the Young Physicist’s programme, with several round tables on, e.g., soft skills and pursuing a European Research career, an Industry day, talks on “How to fund your research”, and informal get-togethers around beer and bretzels.

As for the scientific programme, there will be some 25 Focused Sessions organised jointly by the European Condensed Matter community and the topical groups of SKM. The topics range from superconducting quantum bits to the physics of contagion in socio-economical systems! Therefore, there is bound to be an appealing part of the programme for you. Details can be found on the conference website and on the CMD web pages.

All are invited to submit their scientific contribution at :  https://www.dpg-tagung.de/b18/submission.html?language=en

The abstract submission deadline of December 1st, 2017, is a hard deadline!
