One of the main activities of the board of the EPS Nuclear Physics Division is to organise the European Nuclear Physics Conference, which is an EPS Divisional Conference and one of the major international conferences that reviews the field of nuclear physics every third year.

The first three Conferences were held in Bochum, DE (2009), in Bucharest, RO (2012) and in Groningen, NL (2015) that were all attended by several hundred participants from most European countries and from many non-European as well.

For the next Conference, six different applications were received and discussed at the last Nuclear Physics Division board meeting that was held in Orsay,FR on April 18th and 19th. All the proposals were of very high quality and well detailed, but finally the application of Bologna was chosen as the best. The preliminary date for the Conference is in September 2018 and the proposed venue is the “S. Domenico” center in Bologna, IT. The Bologna proposal is a common effort of many different Italian Universities and Institutions and particular attention will be given to keeping low fees or fee waivers to support the participation of students and young researchers.

More information will soon be available at http://www.eunpc2018.infn.it.
