Call for applications

Applications are sought for the Young Scientist Prize in Atomic, Molecular and Optical Physics [AMOP], which will be awarded, for the first time, in 2016 by the Divisional Board during the 12th European Conference on Atoms, Molecules and Photons [ECAMP-12] to be held on 5-9 September 2016, in Frankfurt, Germany.

The award of the EPS AMOPD YSP will support the attendance of an outstanding young scientist, PhD or post-doc (PhD + 3 years). The Prize includes a certificate, a “hot topic” talk at ECAMP12 and a EURO 1,500 award. The EPS AMOPD Young Scientific Prize will be also officially presented at the award ceremony, just before the ECAMP General Assembly.

The following procedure will be applied. Any person who fulfils the above criteria and plans to contribute to the ECAMP 2016 conference with either an invited talk or presentation of a poster should apply to the Scientific Chair of ECAMP 2016 (Dominique Vernhet).

The application must contain:

  • a CV including a list of publications
  • the details of the applicant’s scientific contribution to the conference (abstract, invited talk)
  • a letter of recommendation from the supervisor explaining the significance of the work to be presented, the personal contribution of the applicant and his/her outstanding qualification.

The deadline for applications is 1 April 2016.

Applications should be sent to: Dominique Vernhet, Institut des NanoSciences de Paris, Université Pierre et Marie Curie [e-mail dominique [dot] vernhet [at] insp [dot] jussieu [dot] fr].
