IYL 2015 in France: a great success!

The International Year of Light and Light-based Technologies 2015 [IYL 2015] has been an immense success and a great popular celebration of light in France. Until the end of October, more than 700 events have been organized all around the country where thousands of participants have learnt about how important are photonics technologies to tackle global issues for our modern society. Launched on 8 January 2015 with a prestigious Opening Ceremony at La Sorbonne in Paris, the French National Committee is convinced that the final goal of 1,000 IYL 2015 events in France will be achieved. Due to the great success, the French IYL 2015 National Committee has decided to extend the IYL 2015 celebrations in France until 30 June 2016.
