The 41st EPS conference on Plasma Physics will be held from 23-27 June 2014 in Berlin, Germany.

This conference continues the series of plasma physics conferences organized by the European Physical Society covering the wide field from nuclear fusion research to the low temperature plasmas, as well as space and astrophysical plasmas.

A number of scientists accepted to prepare plenary talks of general interest for the participants. Invited talks will be given for the four topics separately, namely on Magnetic Confinement Fusion, on Beam Plasmas and Inertial Fusion, on Low Temperature Plasmas and on Basic Plasmas including Space- and Astrophysical Plasmas.

The EPS2014 program includes a number of special features namely the “Kinetics” session on Low Temperature Plasma Physics, the joined session of Basics and Astrophysical Plasmas with the Low Temperature Plasmas, the parallel sessions on Magnetic Confinement, the joined session between Magnetic Confinement and Basic- and Astrophysical Plasmas.

Abstracts can be submitted until 21 February 2014 and post-deadline abstracts will be consider by 16 May 2014. Participants can register on-line until 13 June 2014.

All information can be found on the conference website.

Editorial International Year of Light 2015

It is an absolute pleasure to announce that the United Nations [UN] General Assembly formally proclaimed the year 2015 as the International Year of Light and Light-based Technologies [IYL2015] on 20 December 2013. You can read our official press release on the EPS website. This is the official green light that will allow the EPS and our many international partners to accelerate towards a fantastic year of activities throughout 2015.
