The 2nd International Conference on Photonics, Optics and Laser Technology [PHOTOPTICS 2014] will be held from 7-9 January 2014 in Lisbon, Portugal.

The conference will cover both theoretical and practical aspects of laser photonics and optics. Eminent keynotes speakers have been invited including two members of the European Physical Society: Alberto Diaspro from the Italian Institute of Technology, who will speak on the fluorescence optical microscopy at the nanoscale; and Markus Pollnau from the University of Twente, who will discuss dielectric waveguide amplifiers and lasers.

A special session will be dedicated to the Horizon 2020 Framework Programme. It will emphasise the programme trends, especially in optics, photonics and laser areas.

A doctoral consortium is organised to offer graduate students the opportunity to explore their research interests in an interdisciplinary workshop, under the guidance of a panel of distinguished experts in the field. Papers for the doctoral consortium and for special sessions can be submitted until 30 October 2013.

PHOTOPTICS 2014 will be held in conjunction with the 3rd international conference on sensor networks [SENSORNETS 2014], the 4th international conference on pervasive and embedded computing and communication systems [PECCS 2014] and the international conference on physiological computing systems [PhyCS 2014].

More information is available on the conference website.
