The European Physical Society [EPS] through its Quantum Electronics and Optics Division [QEOD] organizes one of the world’s largest conferences in pure and applied optical physics, which has been held every 2 years in Munich, Germany, since 2001.

The Conference on Lasers and Electro-Optics and the European Quantum Electronics Conference [CLEO Europe-EQEC] is one of EPS’s flagship congress events, attracting the world’s pre-eminent scientists in optics and photonics, and regularly featuring (past and future!) Nobel laureates amongst its speakers.

This year in 2013, the CLEO Europe conference series has continued its tremendous success, attracting a record number of 1780 submissions! This will be expected to bring well-over 1500 attendees to Munich to share and exchange their latest results, to network, and to link with the largest international industry trade fair in the field, which is located within the World of Photonics Congress. The conference will also see the award of several major EPS awards and distinctions.

Munich is a fantastic venue for the congress, which will be held from 12 to 16 May 2013. Early-bird registration is now open, and postdeadline paper submissions will be accepted for consideration until 8 April 2013.

See the conference website for more details as well as a full list of Plenary and Invited speakers.
