25th Anniversary Conference of the Academia Europaea

The Academia Europaea will celebrate its 25th anniversary during a conference to be held in Wroclaw on 17-19 September 2013.

The Academia Europaea is a non-governmental association acting as an academy and promoting learning, education and research since 1988. Its members are leading experts from natural sciences, mathematics, social sciences, economics and law.

Plenary debates will focus on the following topics: grand challenges for the European knowledge sector; the European challenge in uncertain futures; academic integrity; and the anthropocene-future challenges. There will also be 9 parallel sessions organised by Sections of the Academy including a session about the quest for the universe.

The conference will start with the award of the 2013 Erasmus Medal and the delivery of the 2013 Heinz-Nixdorf Foundation-AE Erasmus lecture by the eminent historian Prof. Norman Davies.

On 15 January 2013 the University of Trento opened the Trento Institute for Fundamental Physics and Application [TIFPA].
