Marisa Michelini elected new president of GIREP

Marisa Michelini was elected the new president of the Groupe International de Recherche sur l’Enseignement de la Physiquei [GIREP] during the World Conference on Physics Education, which was held on 1-6 July this year.

Michelini – a professor of Physics Education at the University of Udine’s Faculty of Science of Education – has a long standing relationship with physics education. The founder of the Centre for Teaching Physics Laboratory at the University of Friuli, Michelini has also been a director at the Interdepartmental Centre for Educational Research [CIRD].

GIREP is an organisation of individuals working together – through the medium of international meetings – to promote physics education on an international scale.

of course like your web-site but you need to take a look at the spelling on quite a few of your posts. Many of them are rife with spelling issues and I in finding it very troublesome to tell the truth on the other hand I will definitely come again again.

EPS Edison Volta Prize call

Nominations are now open for the new Edison Volta Prize of the European Physical Society [EPS]. The award – intended to promote excellence in research – will be given in recognition of outstanding achievements in physics.

The EPS Edison Volta Prize will be given biannually to individuals or groups of up to three people. The award consists of a diploma, a medal, and 10,000 euros in prize money.
