The European Physical Society [EPS] has become a partner of the open-access electronic journal of the European Optical Society: Rapid Publications [JEOS:RP]. EPS members will benefit from a special publication rate through this collaboration, which was arranged through the EPS Quantum Electronics and Optics Division [QEOD].

“The partnership with the EPS opens a new chapter for our journal,” says JEOS:RP editor Joseph Braat. Fellow editor Richard M. De La Rue adds: “We welcome the support and involvement that JEOS:RP will be receiving from the EPS through the QEOD. Becoming a sister journal of EPL will surely increase the impact and visibility of JEOS: RP.”

JEOS: RP, which publishes articles on both a European and International scale, was launched five years ago by the European Optical Society. The journal typically receives around 5,500 hits to each article published – a testament to the success of the open access model – and has a current (2011) impact factor of 1.019 – an increase from 0.787 over the last two years.

The member publication rate – which is now available to EPS members – is 350 euros. The non-member rate is 400 euros.

For more information, and to read the latest publications, please visit the JEOS:RP website.
